AUSTRALIAN PLAFIT CHAMPIONSHIP ó GTJ RULE SET ó

1.0 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

1.1. The GTJ Class is a one driver one race car event.
1.2. Any true 1/24 scale representation of a 1/1 GTJ Car from the following homologated list :
1.2.1. Nissan GT-R R35 (2008) #24308 Xanavi, #24312 Calsonic
1.2.2. Honda NSX (2005) #24286 Raybrig, #24287 Epson, #24288 Arta, #24291 Takata.
1.2.3. Toyota SC430 (2006) #24293 Tom's, #24294 Mobil 1, #24303 Zent.
1.3. Only plastic kits manufactured by Tamiya are allowed.

2.0 WEIGHTS and MEASUREMENTS

2.1. Minimum total car weight for Nissan : 175 grams.
2.1.1. Minimum total car weight for Honda : 175 grams.
2.1.2. Minimum total car weight for Toyota : 170 grams.
2.2. Maximum front spur: 85.00 millimeters, but never wider than the body used.
2.4. Maximum rear spur: 86.00 millimeters, but never wider than the body used.
2.5. Minimum ground clearance at the start of the race: 1.00 millimeter.
2.6. Minimum ground clearance during and after the race: 0.50 millimeter.

3.0 MOTOR, GEAR AND PINION

3.1. The Plafit Cheetah II Motor with all Plafit markings clearly visible.
3.2. Any lead wire can be used.
3.3. Pinion Gear any Plafit M50 pitch.
3.4. Spur Gear any Plafit M50 pitch.
3.5. Differentials are not allowed.

4.0 CHASSIS

4.1. The only homologated chassis is the Plafit 1700G which must always feature the following parts :
4.1.1. #1700G Main Cassis Plate.
4.1.2. #1708G Motor Bracket.
4.1.3. #1711G Motor Stay.
4.1.4. #1719 Rear Suspension Hanger.
4.1.5. Assembly of the chassis must be done according to the manufacturerís design using nuts and bolts to the
original holes provided in the chassis.
4.1.6. Nuts, screws, bolts and washers are free to choose.
4.1.7. Only Plafit #1320, #1320A and #1320B are to be used.
4.2. No chassis modifications are allowed.
4.3. No independent front wheels are allowed.
4.4. Only parts manufactured by Plafit for the 1700 series may be used. No other parts that may be available for
use with the Plafit 1700 series are allowed except for the following :
4.4.1. #1314 Steel Weight Plate Set.
4.4.2. #1314CPB Brass Weight Plate 1.1 grams.
4.4.3. #1314CPB2 Brass Weight Plate 1.8 grams.
4.4.4. #GTFS Plastic Front Spoiler (for all cars).
4.4.5. #GTRS Vacuum Formed Rear Spoiler (only for Nissan and Toyota).
4.4.6. #STSS Plastic Body Side Steps (only for Toyota).
4.4.7. #S7-88 Slick 7 Graphite Guide.

4.5. Chassis weight plate positioning for Nissan : Any position.
4.5.1. Chassis weight plate positioning for Honda : Main chassis plate area only.
4.5.2. Chassis weight plate positioning for Toyota : Any position.
4.5.3. Chassis weight plates can be glued in place or fixed with double sided tape.
4.6. Maximum chassis width for Nissan : 83mm.
4.6.1. Maximum chassis width for Honda : 64mm.
4.6.2. Maximum chassis width for Toyota : 81mm.
4.7. Body mounting is allowed only with Flat Body Mount Plates #1707B - F.
4.7.1. Maximum number of flat mount plates for Nissan : 2 pairs.
4.7.2. Maximum number of flat mount plates for Honda : 1 pair.
4.7.3. Maximum number of flat mount plates for Toyota : 2 pairs.
4.8. #1214 Body Mounting Foam Rubber only is to be used.
4.9. No carbon parts are allowed.
4.10. Blueprinting (straightening and light sanding) of chassis parts is allowed.
4.11. Magnets are only present in the motor, and are not allowed in any other part of the chassis.
4.12. Only one chassis is allowed to be used for the duration of the race.

5.0 WHEELS, TIRES, AXLES & BEARINGS

5.1. Only Plafit steel 3mm ÿ blank axles are permitted.
5.2. Allowed are 6mm diameter ball bearings of any make. Fitment to the chassis must be performed without any
cutting or modification to the chassis.
5.3. Allowed front wheels are only Plafit #8321R.
5.4. Allowed rear wheels are only Plafit #8341RB.
5.5. Allowed front tires are only Plafit #8411.
5.6. Allowed rear tires are only Plafit #8441BM.
5.7. Minimum front tire and rim width is 8.0mm.
5.8. Minimum front tire diameter is 26.0mm
5.9. Maximum rear tire width is 16.0mm
5.10. Minimum rear tire diameter is 26.0mm
5.11. No modification to front and rear wheels allowed.
5.12. The front wheels must make contact with the track or tech block.
5.13. Tire dressing is not allowed. Rear tires may only be cleaned by using tape or Shellite.
5.14. All 4 wheels of the car must be fitted with 3-dimensional wheel inserts, resembling the wheels of the real
1:1 car, during the entire race duration.
5.15. None of the wheels may be visible when looked on the assembled car from above. Spur will be measured over
the complete rims left and right, including wheel inserts.
5.16. All four wheels have to be centred into their wheel arches.

6.0 BODY

6.1. Body must be made from injection molded plastic (e.g. Commercially manufactured plastic model kits by Tamiya only).
6.2. Bodies must be fitted with all windows as found on the 1:1 car and must be from the original plastic kit except for the
Toyota where the side windows can be made from clear foil.
6.3. All bodies must feature the Plafit Plastic Front Spoiler #GTFS.
6.3.1 The Nissan and the Toyota can use the Plafit Vacuum Formed Rear Wing #GTRS
6.3. Bodies must be assembled with all parts stated in the 2009 Pan Pacific Plafit Championship GTJ Body Making
Regulations (.pdf).
6.4. Lexan is not allowed for any integrated part or body panel of the body except for 6.2.
6.5. Small parts of Plafit #1214 is allowed for support of the rear wing and/or front spoiler mounting.
6.6. Only one body is allowed to be used for the duration of the race.
6.7. Body must be painted and decaled to resemble a GTJ Race Car.
6.8. Deliberate lightening (dremelling) of body parts are not allowed. Only the minimum modifications to allow proper
body fitment and chassis movement will be allowed. Race direction may apply additional weight penalties for
obvious measures of cheating. These penalties will be in the form of at least one but not more than two 5 gram
weights getting attached to the highest point of the body on the inside, without interfering with the chassis.

7.0 INTERIOR

7.1. Only ACE 1/24 GT Vacuum Formed Driver Interior is allowed for the interior compartment and driver figure, but the
driver head/helmet must be made from resin or hard plastic.
7.2. The interior and driver must be painted in realistic fashion.
7.3. The driver must appear to be wearing a safety harness.
7.4. No chassis parts are allowed to be visible when viewed through all windows.

8.0 REPAIRS

8.1. The following repairs must be carried out immediately under Green Light (race condition) :
(a) replacing or refitting the windshield
(b) refitting the rear wing
(c) refitting the front spoiler
(d) if any part larger then 50mm which might come off the body
(e) if any part of the car other then the guide and wheels, touch and/or damage the track
8.2. All repairs must be carried out under green and during racing time unless specifically approved by the Race Direction.
