1.0 GENERAL DESCRIPTION
1.1. The Formula 1 Class is a sprint race one driver one car event.
1.2. One universal type vacuum formed Formula 1 body can be used only.
1.3. Body presentation, painting and decals have to be a Formula 1 livery past or present from 1980 onwards up to today.
2.0 MEASUREMENTS
2.1. Maximum front spur: 78.00 millimeters.
2.2. Maximum rear spur: 79.00 millimeters.
2.3. Minimum ground clearance at the start of the race: 1.00 millimeter.
2.4. Minimum ground clearance during and after the race: 0.50 millimeter.
3.0 MOTOR, GEAR AND PINION
3.1. The Plafit Cheetah II Motor with all Plafit markings clearly visible.
3.2. Any lead wire can be used.
3.3. Pinion Gear any Plafit M50 pitch.
3.4. Spur Gear any Plafit M50 pitch.
3.5. Differentials are not allowed.
4.0 CHASSIS
4.1. The only homologated chassis is the Plafit 2800 in versions G and J.
4.2. Assembly of the chassis must be done according to the manufacturerís design using nuts and bolts to the
original holes provided in the chassis.
4.3. No chassis modifications are allowed.
4.4. Nuts, screws, bolts and washers are free to choose.
4.5. Only Plafit Chassis Springs #1320, #1320A and #1320B are to be used.
4.6. Only parts manufactured by Plafit for the 2800 series may be used including the following option parts :

4.6.2. #2801B Brass Main Chassis Plate, black
4.6.3. #2801SA Aluminum Shim Plate
4.6.4. #2803A Aluminum Guide Holder

4.8. No carbon chassis parts are allowed.
4.9. Blueprinting (straightening and light sanding) of chassis parts is allowed.
4.10. Magnets are only present in the motor, and are not allowed in any other part of the chassis.
4.11. Only one chassis is allowed to be used for the duration of the race.
5.0 WHEELS, TIRES, AXLES & BEARINGS
5.1. Plafit steel 3mm ÿ blank axles only are permitted at the rear.
5.2. Steel Front Stub Axles Plafit #2802S and any Carbon Stub Axles are allowed.
5.3. Allowed are 6mm diameter ball bearings of any make. Fitment to the chassis must be performed without any
cutting or modification to the chassis.
5.4. Allowed front wheels are Plafit #2831J 20 x 13.4mm, black (for rubber tires) and Plafit #2831P 20.4 x 13.0mm,
black, plastic (for sponge tires).
5.5. Allowed rear wheels are only Plafit #2832J 18 x 16mm, black (for sponge tires).
5.6. Allowed front tires are Plafit #1744M Rubber Tires (50shore, 14mm wide) and Plafit #2841 Sponge Tires 20 x 13.5mm.
5.7. Allowed rear tires are only Plafit #2842BM Sponge Tires 18 x 17mm.
5.8. Minimum front tire and rim width is 12.0mm.
5.9. Minimum front tire diameter is 24.5mm
5.10. Maximum rear tire width is 17.0mm.
5.11. Minimum rear tire diameter is 25.0mm.
5.12. No modification to rear wheels allowed.
5.13. The front wheels must make contact with the track or tech block at all times.
5.14. Tire dressing is not allowed. Rear tires may only be cleaned by using tape or Shellite.
6.0 BODY
6.1. Only one body can be used : ACE #24922 Universal 1/24 Formula Body, vaccum formed, 0.020" Lexan with separate
rear wing.
6.2. The body has to be cut that no other chassis part except for the front suspension arms and a small rear part of the body
mount plates is visible when the car is viewed from above.
6.3. The separate top part of the rear wing has to be attched to the body at all times. The minimum height from the ground to the
top of the rear wing must not be less then 35mm.
6.4. Body must be painted and decaled to resemble a Formula 1 car or Formula 1 livery as seen from 1980 onwards to
the present day. Detail parts like mirrors, camera, gearbox part, exhaust pipes and wheel inserts are not mandatory
but most welcome.
6.5. Only one body is allowed to be used for the duration of the race.
7.0 INTERIOR
7.1. Vacuum Formed Driver Interior is allowed for the interior compartment and driver figure, but the
driver head/helmet must be made from resin or hard plastic.
7.2. The interior and driver must be painted in realistic fashion.
7.3. The driver must appear to be wearing a safety harness.
7.4. No chassis parts are allowed to be visible.
8.0 REPAIRS
8.1. The following repairs must be carried out immediately under Green Light (race condition) :
(a) replacing or refitting the rear wing
(b) replacing or refitting the driver figure including driver head
(c) replacing or refitting the front wheels and tires
(d) if any part of the car other then the guide and wheels, touch and/or damage the track
8.2. All repairs must be carried out under green and during racing time unless specifically approved by the Race Direction. |
